Travel Birds Australia

One of our favourite things to do while beetling around in our VW T4 camper van is to observe and photograph birds. Apart from an interest in the technical aspects of digital photography, there is sheer joy in observing these wondrous creatures. While we have had variety of cameras and lenses over the years, our favourite for birds in a Canon 77D with an EF 70-200 mm 1:2.8 L IS USM with a home-made sling. I have a x1.4 extender as my compromise when I would really like a longer lens. But I don't use it that much, I always come back to the 200 mm at f2.8 - speed is your friend when photographing birds. As well, I no longer consider lying for hours in a damp or rocky place with ants and other bitty things fun; instant gratification, that's me. The main thing is to get out and about in this amazing country 'where time began'. Check the history, geography, geology of where you are - how lucky are we to be able to wander at will in this astounding place! Spotted
